Looked for a picture of Titantic's sister ship on AncestryLibrary and found a picture of the Britannic and very little information.  Had a hard time finding the ship until I found out what the name of it was, then had a little more luck.

For the student looking for information on the Hindenburg dirigible I found quite a few articles in the Stars and Strips Newspaper.  Would take a lot of reading on his part but there were lots of articles to choose from.

HertiageQuest was not very successful on giving information on Bison.  Did find information about cemeteries in Perkins  County.  Found some Genealogical Society publications about the Black Hills and South Dakota in general that would be interesting.  Found one book, History of  Dakota Territory, that would be a good read for historical events in South Dakota.

Definitely need some tips on doing searches in these resources.  Did not feel very successful this time.

  1. Hi, hopeful! I think these genealogy resources take some and a lot of playing around to get the best results. The best news is that you don't have to know everything, just show these to your genealogy patrons and let them go! The sister ship of the Titanic is actually the Olympic. One way to find it is to select "Immigration & Travel," do a keyword search for "titanic" "sister ship," which brings up 7 results. Hover over them until you get to Olympic--at the bottom it says "Sister ship: Titanic." I find HeritageQuest to be full of information, but harder to use than Ancestry. You made some good finds about Perkins County. Good job.
