While playing in HeritageQuest I searched for DeLand, FL just to see the articles it had and there were quite a few. I also browsed the publications. I didn't really find much that interested me but if you are into genealogy there are lots of interesting publications out there and I'm sure they would be great sources for information. Some of the family trees where already done up to a certain point. How great would that be to have that information and you just need to add the more current events.
I looked for Bison, SD in the Sanborn Maps and they did not have any record of it. I did check out Custer then and they had a map. I am not real familiar with Custer so could not really locate a building that was still standing. But it was interesting to see what kind of stores used to be open. I also thought it was neat that they had a key that told you what the building was made from. I guess that was a great help to the firemen. Interesting stuff.

Was looking at "Sweet Clover in Great Plains Farming" on OAIster. The text I accessed looked interesting but I wasn't sure how to enlarge it so I could read it. I thought maybe if I bookbagged it I could open it that way but that didn't work either. Probably no one else had this problem it's just I'm not real computer literate. I am learning new things everyday so there is still hope.

While checking out the Ancestry Library I found my old marriage certificate but never did find my birth certificate. I checked out my Grandfather and found his birth certificate even though I didn't have the year of his birth. I cross referenced it with were he was born and were he lived and died. Could spend lots of time on here.

Checked out Camio today. Was pretty neat to find out that Paul Revere was also a silver smith who made teaspoons and a sugar bowl with lid. The Sioux have made all kins of things beadworks, paintings and carvings. I looked up the artist Johan Dahl, his painting Coast of Capri, 1822, which is an oil on canvas is displayed in the Carnegie Museum. I think this would be a neat site for showing kids different types of artwork. I think Art Teachers would find it a great resource.
Good afternoon, checking out the worldcat site. Looked up the book Excuses Begone had 19 results, there were 1358 libraries with the book and the top library was Alexander Mitchell Library and the 2nd was Rapid City Library. The call descriptor is BF441 Dewey 158.1. He has written 15 other books on how to live a successful life. Looked up other books with this type of description and came up with 23638 other resources. Very nice resource for finding books or other material.

Ebooks on Ebsco was an interesting site. Found a book on world religions that I downloaded to read. When I looked up Constitution Day it came back with a wide variety of choices but two I thought would be appropriate were the Bill Of Rights, and the Compete Idiots Guide to the American Presidents. Did not have quite as much luck with the PB Publisher-Nebraska search but did find two books there also.
Sirs Issues Researcher would be a wonderful tool for righting papers. Even helps to make powerpoint presentations, wow. Like the fact you can paste the citations right into the document as well, think of the notecards it would have saved us!
In the curriculum pathfinders I looked up human anatomy. Amazing the stuff you can find out there all in one place. More teachers and students need to know about these resources.

Just discovered Sirs Discoverer. Wonderful sight checked out green sea turtles and found out lots of info that I didn't know before. Love the reading level ability so kids can find articles that are a perfect understanding for them. Checked out the database features and what a wonderful sight for teachers. I can see a lot of different uses for learning how to research and look up interesting topics. The elementary work book would be so handy at teaching young kids how to use the program. The maps were very interesting too, nice to be able to find different time periods. Wish there was a way to pull up two maps at once to compare the areas side by side. Great learning website.

Learning Express where were you when I was taking my EMT test. Love the fact that it gives an explanation for the correct answers if you miss them. What an awesome study resource for all kinds of tests.
I checked out the course on resume writing and it is very informative and helpful. How do you know which kind you need, what do I put in it, etc.? Like that it helps you write one and save it as you go. What more could a person ask for?
The Ebook I picked was actually a set of flashcards for EMT's to review vocabulary and meaning. Would have loved these while training. Will still use them now for review.
This is a great site I have already gotten to high school students interested in practicing for the ACT's using the Learning Express.

Good Morning Everyone, I checked out the ArchiveGrid at the school yesterday and it was very interesting. I looked up Sitting Bull and found out that he was also called Tatanka Iyotake. I knew he was a Sioux leader but found he was also a Shaman of the tribe. Also found it interesting after coming back from Canada that he toured with Buffalo Bill Cody.
I also checked out a little on Ansel Adams the famous photographer and conservationist. He established the Ansel Adams Wilderness area in California because of the Trans-Sierra-Road controversy in the Mammoth-Pass and Minaret Summit Area.
